u2 tattoo project

In 2015 I worked as the photographer for the U2 Tattoo Project. We documented more than 1,500 fan tattoos in nearly 30 cities.

This culminated in a exhibition at The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland to commemorate the band’s 40th anniversary.

parades

Belfast is a city in transition. Years of physical conflict continue to play out in the form of parades and protest marches. These displays of power are highly contested events that require weeks of planning and approval from a special parades commission. Some of these parades can host more than 50,000 marchers.

cuba

Growing up in the 1980's in Florida I have always been fascinated by Cuba. I lived within a few miles of five Navy bases, which meant we lived under the "constant threat" of a Russian or Cuban nuclear attack. In elementary school we would have weekly "fallout" drills where we would hide under our desks and over our necks with our hands. I met a Cuban family for the first time when I was eight years old. I started to question the propaganda that all Cubans hated Americans. This sparked a lifelong fascination with the isolated (at least according to American rhetoric) island nation.

In March 2017 I finally had the opportunity to travel to Cuba for a week. These are some of the images from that trip.

along for the ride

Local radio is a very dynamic industry. It is constantly pulled between changing local audience tastes, national corporate interests and competition from satellite stations and podcasts. At one point there was a belief that morning radio was safe from the trend toward syndication since the morning drive is when local stations have the highest concentration of listeners. However, podcasts are continuing to increase in popularity and more stations are transitioning to syndicated programming.

I spent time getting to know the faces behind the voices of morning radio in Charlotte, North Carolina. Specifically, I wanted to get to introduce you to the people we invite into our cars each morning and take along for the ride.
